If you're unfamiliar with the 5 Common Topics, don't worry! The introduction will guide you through the five topics that are applicable to any subject and clarify how to utilize the notebook's pages.

5 Common Topics are: Naming, Attending, Memory, Expression, and Storytelling. 

Each week there are 3 pages in the notebook to complete.  The first page focuses on Naming and Attending by exploring the words and definitions of the topic.  This is a colorful page with fill in the blank, tracing, matching, etc.  There are also "research and discuss" ideas for further study.  Page 2 focuses on Memory by providing a space for the student to write out their memory work as well as take notes from their reading and research during the week.  These are ideas and things that are good to remember about the topic.  Page 3 focuses on Expression and Storytelling by providing a place to draw or illustrate their topic and a place to write out what they would tell someone else about what they've learned.  

Print single or double sided and place in a notebook to use each week! Science can be done in 2, 3 or 4 days at home depending on age and ability of the child.
